Vacheron Constantin Overseas 42040
Launched in 1996 as what is widely believed to be an evolution of the 222, the Overseas was Vacheron’s first major dive into the sports luxury watch market. This watch turned out to be a revelation and energized the traditional watch maker. Today, the Overseas has taken the fight to AP’s Royal Oak and Patek’s Nautilus to become one of the world’s most highly coveted sports watches. After the pandemic, the popularity of this model has surged and pieces are selling at anywhere between 50-100% premium on the suggested retail.
At Rewind, we have been fortunate to get our hands on one of the original Vacheron Constantin launched in 1996, the full gold Three Hand Date (42040). Fitted with Calibre 1310 – Vacheron took the GP caliber 3100 and upgraded it to becoming a COSC certified caliber with a 45 hour power reserve. Sitting at 37MM with its iconic maltese cross inspired design, the Vacheron Constantin 42040 is the perfect balance of elegance and ruggedness that you would want from a luxury sports watch. Fitted with a double deployant clasp, this watch has added protection against falling off your wrist. You can check out this beautiful piece here!
